The Zardoz Project

“इरफ़ान ने कहा था, फ़ायदा अर्ज़-ए-हुनर में था, हुनर में क्या था सो दस्त-ए-हुनर ज़रदोज़ीं के नाम और ज़रदोज़ीं, आपके नाम ll”

The Zardoz Project by Divani

The “Zardoz Project” is the fundamental pillar of the brand and a rightful step in conserving the craft that we cherish.

Standing tall as the proud custodians of authentic zardozi, the brand takes pride in its legacy and aims at creating heirlooms for the coming generations.

Traditional zardozi artisan craftsmanship

Every creation stays true to this ethos, celebrating the art and the artisans of Hindostan.

It takes years and sometimes generations to create one perfect “टांका” (stitch). Divani salutes the hard work and compassion of this exquisite labour of love.

Zardozi embroidery and artisan craftsmanship

With this project Divani takes a step ahead in creating masterpieces reminiscent of the past, simultaneously restoring zardozi by reaching out to its connoisseurs and helping them revive their age-old heirlooms so that the next generation can cherish our values and our loved craft.

Meanwhile, the project creates better opportunities for the “zardozikars”.

“The Zardoz Project” by Divani is everything that we stand for and everything that we want to be — a brand that stands for timeless fashion and heirlooms celebrating a craft as old as time.

The Nathdwara Series

Where every thread becomes a prayer, and every glimmer of gold remembers the divine. In the silent bloom of needle and zari, Shri Nathji’s eternal presence unfolds.

The Nathdwara Series by Divani

Inspired by the devotional art of Nathdwara, this hand-embroidered textile places the sacred Swaroop of Shri Nathji at its heart, surrounded by flourishing flora and fauna drawn from the rich visual language of Pichwai and Indian miniature painting.

A step forward in Divani’s Zardoz Project, where the brand salutes the hands that keep the art alive.

Entirely handcrafted using real zari, the work employs traditional zardozi techniques including farisha, kutki, and intricate tukdi ka kaam (patchwork), creating remarkable depth, texture, and luminosity.

Shikargah

Where the forest stirs in gold, and every stitch recalls the grace of the hunt. In the quiet shimmer of thread and light, Shikargah lives again.

Shikargah zardozi artwork by Divani

Inspired by the miniature art form of Shikargah, this series transforms a regal hunting scene into a richly layered textile composition.

Handcrafted Shikargah textile composition

Handcrafted entirely from scratch, without the use of any print technique, it is brought to life through the patient artistry of Zardozi and traditional “tukdi ka kaam” (patchwork).

Every motif is shaped by hand with remarkable precision, creating a garment that carries the elegance of miniature painting into a contemporary form.
